Chromotherapy: Healing Through Colour

Chromotherapy, also known as colour therapy, is the science of using colour to adjust the body’s vibrations to frequencies that promote health and harmony. Each colour carries a specific frequency and vibration, which can influence physical, emotional, and mental states. The body depends on sunlight to thrive, and that light can be divided into a seven-colour spectrum. An imbalance in any of these colours may manifest as physical or psychological symptoms.

Colour therapy works through various energy points, using the full visible light spectrum to support balance and well-being. Each hue addresses a different need within the body and mind. This method has been used by healers for thousands of years and may have origins in Ayurveda (Indian medicine), ancient Egyptian practices, and traditional Chinese healing.

They also enhance metabolism, encourage adrenaline release, and increase libido and creativity.

Yellow – Mental Clarity & Digestive Health
Yellow stimulates the mind, promoting mental inspiration and clarity of thought. It supports the nervous system and can be beneficial for conditions affecting the stomach, liver, and intestines. Yellow aids in healing skin issues and repairing scar tissue. It is commonly used for constipation, liver concerns, diabetes, and eczema.

Blue – Calm, Communication & Peace
Blue is a cooling, calming colour that supports issues related to the throat, speech, and communication. It encourages restful sleep, emotional tranquillity, and mental clarity. Blue can ease nervous tension, foster trust and reliability, and soothe a worried or overactive mind.

Green – Balance, Harmony & Renewal
Green is a universal healer and one of the most balancing colours. It relaxes muscles and the nervous system, promoting inner peace and emotional cleansing. It is helpful for stress-related disorders, ulcers, headaches, and heart conditions. Green also helps regulate blood pressure and create a sense of harmony in the body and mind.

Violet – Spiritual Healing & Nervous System Support
Violet is ideal for treating nervous conditions, scalp disorders, sciatica, rheumatism, concussion, and epilepsy. It purifies thoughts and emotions and inspires creativity and spiritual insight.
